Amherst Police made three arrests at two different apartment complexes yesterday for possession of marijuana and cocaine following a lengthy investigation in cooperation with area police departments.

Darius D. Coleman, 19, of 34 Greenleaves Drive, Hadley and Stacey Dalmau, 29, of 520 C. Mill Valley Estates were charged with possession of class D and class B drugs with intent to distribute and a drug violation in a school zone after police executed a search warrant for apartment 520 G of the Mill Valley Estates.

Lamont E. Allen, 43, of 170 East Hadley Road, Amherst, was charged with possession of class D and B drugs after police arrested him at 76 The Brook.

Both warrants were executed at approximately 8:15 a.m. yesterday morning.

According to police, all of the arrests followed a lengthy investigation conducted alongside the Hampshire County Narcotics Task Force.

"It's strange to hear about something like that happening," said Evan Boshi, a senior at the University of Massachusetts and resident of the Mill Valley Estates. "It's not something you see happening out in the open during the day."

All three were expected to be arraigned at the Eastern Hampshire District Court yesterday.

Chris Martin contributed to this report.
