On Oct. 1, 2008, the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services plans to change the test from trivia-based to a more complicated conceptually based exam, meant to weed out potential citizens who aren't dedicated to the abstract ideals of America and, therefore, cannot be considered true "patriots.
Fraudulent army veteran Jesse MacBeth pleaded guilty in Seattle to charges that he misrepresented his military service. He has been sentenced to five months in prison for making false statements to the Department of Veterans Affairs. MacBeth claimed to be a former Army Ranger who fought in Iraq and came home to grapple with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
