Ford spurns Providence, to remain at UMass

Weeks of speculation involving where Massachusetts men's basketball coach Travis Ford will coach next season are over. He isn't going anywhere. UMass athletic director John McCutcheon made the announcement Thursday night at 7 p.m., saying that Ford will be back in Amherst next season.

UMass travels to D.C., for series against Colonials

After advancing to its first Beanpot Championship in seven years, the Massachusetts baseball team returns to conference play with a three-game set against St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y., this weekend. In their last Atlantic 10 road series, the Minutemen (9-12, 3-6 A-10) played well, taking two out of three against George Washington last weekend.

Five match win streak for UM tennis

The Massachusetts tennis team will try to keep its impressive five-match winning streak going when it plays Rhode Island in its fourth and final conference match of the year tomorrow. The match will be played in Kingston, R.I., at 2:00 p.m. Massachusetts sports a 3-0 conference record and an overall record of 10-9.

Rowers prepare for A-10's at Knecht Cup

Larnard Collegian Staff In preparation for the Atlantic 10 Championships, the Massachusetts rowing team will race this weekend in the Knecht Cup with over 40 other crews from across country. The race will be the team's final preparations before it goes for its 13th straight A-10 Championship a week later.

Track teams to host Invitational in new facility

The Massachusetts men's and women's track and field teams will unveil their new facility on Saturday as they host the 2008 UMass Invitational. The facility was supposed to be opened at a 5-way meet to kick off the outdoor season two weeks ago, but had to be cancelled due to heavy wind and rain.
