I've only been here at the Collegian for a little more than a semester, but the little time has been great. I'm gonna keep it short and sweet to give space to the seniors since I'll have two more of these issues because of my sophomore status. Also, I only have an hour and a half to finish this before I have to send it in, because I just passed out for four hours when I wanted to start this. I guess that's due to the sleep deprivation I've had the past week due to all the training I've done. Better get use to it.

First I'd like to thank Meghan Murphy for bringing me down to the collegian and introducing me to the sports section last semester. At that time I had just been accepted to the Journalism major and had yet to even take a journalism class and really had no idea what I was doing.

I was given my first topic, Men's Top 25 Basketball, and when I wrote my first piece and went down to get it edited I wondered if they would want me back. Joe edited it and it was covered in red. One thing I remember Joe telling me was not to use clichés, which I clearly still have not learned since he still tells me it all the time. I think he just finds everything to be a cliché but oh well.

From writing that first notebook to covering crew, which I knew nothing about when I started, I feel I've come along way. Now being an assistant sports editor for next year, I feel the hard work and all the help from everyone else down in the sports section has really helped me earn that position.

Jeremy, thanks for giving me the opportunity last semester and teaching me a lot over the past few months. It's too bad you can't stick around for another year. Joe, I'm going to continue to be captain cliché just for you. But everything else you've taught me, which is a lot, I will remember. And I don't think I've been able to grace your "Most Ridiculous Person In The World List" so next year I plan to make that a personal goal.

Eli, I'm sure I'm gonna hear you tell me I'm fired and that you hate me plenty of times next year, but I promise I won't by as annoying as Joe. But with me as an assistant editor you'll have someone who appreciates all of you random statistics you know that no one else cares about. Connors, it's been fun this semester and these past few weeks training with you. Thanks for help preparing me for next year.

Ryan and Melissa, I'm looking forward to working with you next year and making Eli's life hell as editor. To the rest of the sports section, next year should be great and I'm really looking forward to it.
