Nick O'Malley, Collegian Staff
Nick O'Malley
Issue date: 5/13/08 Section: Sports
I'm the biggest rookie of the bunch here, so I'll try to keep it short for the important people. Rather, the people that think they're important.
Speaking of egos, I'd really like to thank Jeremy, Joe, Mike, and Eli for all the help they've given me over this great, albeit brief, period I've been with the section. My biggest regret is that I didn't come down to meet you guys sooner. In which case, you guys aren't getting individual thanks sections in here, you have enough already.
To everyone else, I'm really looking forward to next year when I can really start to help this section and not just complain about things in ed/op.
There is one person, however, that I would like to thank more than anyone else at the collegian.
S.P. - to put it into words that are slightly more interesting but requires people to watch Scrubs, you were the Dr. Cox to my J.D. Well, minus the anger and sarcasm, but I suppose Eli can make up for that next year.
Deciding on whether to refer to you by your real name or you byline will never cease to confuse me. Pick one.
Regardless, if I didn't happen to meet you in Dickie Wallace's Anthropology class, I still might be making excuses for why I don't go down to the Collegian.
Thanks for letting me ignore pretty much all the guidelines for topics this semester, which allowed to rant about sports while desperately attempting to make it ed/op material.
I want to thank you most of all, though, for showing me the ropes and being that guy that I could go to with all of my questions. You know, helping a dumb and inexperienced kid look just a bit less dumb.
In return, I've managed to actually get your name on the sports page. You can thank me for the honor later.
It really is an honor, though, to be able to work with all the great people down at the collegian. I'm looking forward to the upcoming years so I can do my best to make this paper the best it can be.
