"I hated every minute of training, but I said, "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."-Muhammad Ali
Thank you to everyone I've worked with at the Collegian over my two years. I started thinking this might be my career and ended up going to a new path. However, what I learned at the paper and in the journalism program will help me as I try my hand at law school in 2009.
I've had a lot of fun this year especially with all the people I've partied with at 219 East Pleasant street (a dump I call home). My friends Elise Gardner and Adrianne Economu wanted me to give them a shout out in the paper…look them up on Facebook they are both available and you can usually find them at the bars on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Since Mothers Day was on Sunday I'd like to take some time to thank my mom. Word can't express the appreciation I want to show you, but I will try. You've always been there for me and helped me grow into a stronger person. Even though you worked two full-time jobs and 80 to 90-hour weeks you still managed to always be there when I needed it. I don't know how anyone can be a single mother and raise five children and put all of them through college. I think you must have done something right. You've made countless sacrifices in your own life to make ours better and you've prepared me for college and the next step after it. As a mother you've taught me to be a strong loving man and let me learn things my own way without interference. Everything you've ever obtained in life you've given it back to your family. In sports the best player is always the one who is the most selfless, the person who wants to achieve a goal and will sacrifice everything for that ultimate goal. That is you. It's funny when I complain about a class or how overwhelmed I am with work and then I look at you working two full-time jobs and helping your ill mother and father on a daily basis. I know I down the line I might hit some tough patches in, but you've taught me to always keep my head up and understand that I will not fail. I love you mom and happy mothers day.
