The library lawn was littered with booths and students for VOX: Students for Choice's third annual "Sex on the Lawn" event yesterday. VOX joined forces with many other registered student organizations (RSOs) and clubs to present a day filled with sex and health education.
Here's the scene: It's approaching midnight on a Friday. You go to the University of Massachusetts, so naturally you're probably engaging in some questionable activities, with or without friends. You're mellowing out, watching the tube, when suddenly - a wretched sound is unearthed from the inner depths of your stomach, a sound capable of converting even the most passionate atheist into a God-fearing churchgoer.
The Massachusetts softball team advanced to the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament with a 2-0 win over Fordham yesterday afternoon. UMass plays Charlotte today at 2 p.m. UMass and Fordham stood deadlocked at 0-0 until freshman Lindsay Maroney hit a two-out single to left field scoring sophomore Jill Andrews, who was pinch running on the play.
When walking through the mass of students moving hastily through Franklin Dining Common to get a quick bite to eat, it becomes easy to ignore certain things. Forgetting to pick up a dropped fork, leaving a tray abandoned on a cafeteria table, or ignoring a drink accidentally spilled becomes commonplace in the mid-morning rush to class.
